Moorhead Career Academy Opens Doors, Hosts Grand Opening Ceremony

(Moorhead, MN) -- On Friday, Moorhead's Career Academy held its Grand Opening Ceremony and ribbon cutting ceremony.

The 177,000 square foot building houses several hands-on classrooms. The labs feature welding, automotive, engines, metal fab, construction, culinary arts, medical and early childhood education.

One of the Career Academy's goals is to find student's passions, while simultaneously preparing them for the workforce. The Academy works closely with local businesses to provide industry certifications and teach students real information they need to know in their careers.

The building is a product of a 110-million bond referendum passed by Moorhead in November 2019. The Academy is the first phase of rebuilding the Moorhead's schools. The next step is to rebuild Moorhead High, a project that started in June of 2021, which is projected to be finished in its entirely or the 2024-2025 school year.
