Man Ran Over After Jumping from Car on I-29 in Fargo

(Fargo, ND) -- A man suffered serious injuries after jumping out of a moving car early Monday evening on I-29 in Fargo.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Cherrelle Bennett was driving her 2020 Jeep off the 13th Avenue South exit when her 33-year-old male passenger jumped out of the car, then was ran over by the jeep around 4:30 p.m. He then reportedly tried to jump over the guardrail back into traffic.

Troopers say two good Samaritans were then able to restrain the passenger and prevent him from harming himself further.

He was taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for medical treatment and is in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
