(Fargo, ND) -- The President of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce is pushing for a new location for the non-profit agency.
At Monday night's meeting of the Fargo City Commission, Chamber President Shannon Full asked commissioners to consider a long term lease for the chamber to build a new "business resource hub" on city-owned land at 2001 44th St. S, which is also the site of the Visitor's Center.
The commission voted to direct staff to explore the possibility of offering the lease to the chamber. Commissioner Tony Gehrig was the only dissenting vote. Gehrig said allowing a non-profit to build on city-owned property would set a "bad" precedent.
