(Moorhead, MN) -- Charges are pending against a man who led Moorhead Police officers on a single car chase Sunday morning.

Authorities were dispatched at 8:20 a.m. to the report of a motorist slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle while stopped at a stoplight. The vehicle eventually moved and callers continued to follow it until officers located the vehicle on 34th Street South near 12th Avenue South.

Officers then attempted to stop the car on suspicion of driving under the influence, but the driver, later identified as 28-year-old Warren Michael Misevich, then fled at a high rate of speed. Stop sticks were attempted to be used twice, albeit unsuccessfully.

The vehicle eventually left the roadway while headed south on 34th Street South near the intersection with 30th Avenue South. Misevich struck multiple trees, causing the suspect to be pinned inside.

Moorhead Firefighters, along with Sanford Ambulance responded to assist with extracting the Misevich.

The Fargo native was transported to Sanford Hospital for his injuries. Charges are being requested against Misevich for DWI, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle, Driving After Revocation and multiple traffic offenses.

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.
