(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the stabbing death of her boyfriend.

Terin Stately, 34, pleaded guilty to felony manslaughter.

Court documents say Stately stabbed 27-year-old Keanen Poitra, near his groin during an argument. The knife severed Poitra's femoral artery, causing him to bleed to death.

Stately gave several accounts of the stabbing. She told one investigator that the incident was sparked over Poitra cheating on her. When asked another time, she told prosecutors that the argument was over drugs. In the end, Stately claimed she wasn't sure what happened to Poitra.
