Moorhead man dead after being trapped under car

(Moorhead, MN) -- A Moorhead man has died after being pinned underneath a car on the city's south side.

The Moorhead Police Department says that at approximately 11:20 a.m, their officers, along with Moorhead Fire and Sanford Ambulance responded to the 1300 block of 34th Avenue South for a report of a male trapped under a vehicle. When they arrived, officers found the adult male victim unresponsive and trapped under the front of the van he was working on in a residential garage. Another man witnessed the incident and immediately began to attempt to free the victim.The Moorhead Fire Department extricated the man, who was determined to be dead on the scene.

Moorhead Police are currently investigating the incident; however, nothing appears to be suspicious. The victim will be transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The identity of the victime is expected to be released pending notification of family members.
