Several Cities close buildings, businesses offer deals to honor Veterans Day

(Fargo, ND) -- Several cities in our region will be closed for Veterans Day.

West Fargo:

• Because of the city's closure, there will be no garbage collection for the holiday. Thursday and Friday garbage collection will take place Friday, Nov. 12. There are no changes to the recycling schedule.
• Buildings closed to the public include: City Hall, The Public Library, and The Transfer Station. Both the West Fargo Police and Fire Department buildings will be closed to the public, but will maintain full operation.

Moorhead:

• Both Thursday’s and Friday’s routes will be collected on Friday, November 12. The Garbage Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
• MATBUS: There will be regular MATBUS and MAT Paratransit service on most routes on November 11; there will be no service on NDSU routes 13U, 31, 32E, 32W, 33, 34 and NDSU TapRide. MATBUS Administrative Offices will be closed.
• All city offices will be closed.

Fargo:

• City of Fargo offices, the Fargo Public Library and Fargo Cass Public Health will be closed for the Veterans Day holiday on Thursday, November 11. Regular hours will resume for these offices on the morning of Friday, November 12.
• Garbage and recycling collection schedules will be unaffected by the holiday, and the Fargo City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Facility will operate during regular business hours on November 11.
• City MATBUS routes will be unaffected by the holiday. NDSU routes will not run on November 11 and will resume November 12.

Veterans Deals in the Fargo-Moorhead Area:

• Applebee’s -  Free meal from special menu. Beverage and gratuity not included.
• Chili’s -  On Veterans Day. Nov 11 Free meal from special menu.
• Denny’s -  11 Nov -Free Build Your Own Grand Slam, from 5 a.m. to noon.
• IHOP -  offering veterans and active duty military a FREE order of Red, White, and Blue pancakes or a red white and blue pancake combo meal from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 11. Veterans and active duty military must show proof of military service to receive their free Red, White & Blue pancakes.
• The Olive Garden -  On Veterans Day, Olive Garden restaurants will offer a free entrée from a special menu to active-duty military and military veterans. The special menu features six of Olive Garden’s most popular items. Entrées are served with unlimited homemade soup or famous house salad and warm, garlic bread sticks.
• Red Lobster - To thank Veterans, active duty military and reservists, Red Lobster will offer a free appetizer or dessert from their select Veterans Day menu. To receive offer, show a valid military ID on November 11th.
• Texas Roadhouse -  Free lunch from special menu. Dine-in only.  Opening – 4 pm.
• Village Inn -  On Nov 11th.  Free VIB.   Beverage extra.
• Great Clips -  offering a free hair cut for military and veterans. Non-veterans can get a coupon to give to a veteran.
• Lowe’s – 10% Discount (All veterans get a 10% discount on Veterans Day (this same discount is available year-round for most active duty military and veterans).
• Super Buffet - Once again, Henry is recognizing veterans with a FREE meal for lunch and supper at the Super Buffet on November 4th. Please identify yourself as a veteran when being seated for the free meal.  Hope to see you there!
• Ruby Tuesday – Free burger & tater tots on Veteran’s day with military ID
• Sickies Garage – 20% discount with Military ID on Veteran’s Day.
• Cash Wise deli – Free chicken dinner for veteran.   Guests for 50% off. Offer is from 1100-300.
• Skate City – 12pm -600pm Veteran gets in free and hotdog/drink 1 per skater.
• Kohls - Active and former military personnel, veterans and their families get a 30% off in-store discount November 7 through 11.
• Sport Clips – Fargo/West Fargo are offering veterans $3 off haircuts on November 11.
• Target -- Active-duty military, veterans, Reservists and their dependents can receive a 10% discount on a purchase made in-store and online from November 3 through 11.
• Crooked Pint Ale House -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free menu item on November 11 at participating locations.
• Papa Murphy - a free cheese or pepperoni pizza on Veterans Day limit one (Moorhead and Fargo)
• Sandy’s Donuts - Veterans get a free donut on Veteran's Day!

Proof of service is required at most locations, such as a military ID, discharge papers, VA cards, and veterans organization cards.  Some businesses will allow dressing in uniform as identification.
