(Dilworth, MN) -- We now know what caused a machine shop just north of Dilworth to go up in flames in the early morning hours Thursday.

Fire Chief and Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says an investigator with the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office has determined the cause of the blaze that occurred on property near 50th avenue north was due to an electrical issue. The investigator says they found an extension cord believed to be the cause.

There were no injuries in the fire, but several thousands of dollars worth of equipment and vehicles, as well as the structure itself, were a complete loss.
