(Grand Forks, ND) -- An East Grand Forks man is facing charges after slamming his car through a building late Tuesday evening.

The Grand Forks Police Department says 31-year-old Gebrekrstos Embaye drove through the south wall of Thrifty White Pharmacy off South Columbia Road, near Altru Medical Center around 11 p.m.

Authorities say the initial investigation of the crash indicates Embaye lost control of his car headed  north on S. Columbia, resulting in him leaving the roadway and striking the building. The vehicle came to a stop partially inside the business.

There was significant damage to the foundation and interior of the building.  Embaye was not injured, but cited for Care Required.

"The Grand Forks Police Department would like to remind all drivers to operate their vehicle in a safe and prudent manner at all times," said the department in a released statement to WDAY Radio.

Anyone who has  further information regarding the incident are encouraged to contact the Grand Forks Police Department at (701) 787-8000.
