(Fargo, ND) -- A pathway from the Fargo-Moorhead metro to St. Cloud is in the works, and officials in charge are looking for you to help them figure out how to map it.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is mapping out a bicycle path across the state from Moorhead to St. Cloud. It would be the third such major, long range bike path in the state set up.

"Getting public feedback is critical right now as we work towards what's next,' said MnDot's Pedestrian and bicycle planning's Kate Matusinec on WDAY Radio's Bonnie and Friends Friday. "It will give the community a chance to do things like name the trail, and provide insight on which roads and pathways to use to make the overall path make as much sense as possible."

The pathway will not be a new, paved singular path, but rather a connection of pre-existing roadways and paths already in service that will be connected to form the path.

Matusinec says the goal is to have all the information they need by Spring to Summer of 2022, with mapping of the project finished soon after. To find out more information about the project, click here.
