Road closures in Fargo-Moorhead in preparation for Holiday Lights Parade

(Fargo, ND) -- Starting at 10 a.m on Saturday, December 4, Downtown Fargo will close roads to traffic in preparation for the 2021 Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade. 

The parade will officially begin at 6:30pm. 

The following closures will take place throughout the day:

MOORHEAD: The parade will begin at 8th Street and follow Center Avenue West. 

·                    4th St. N and 4th S South to Center Ave

·                    5th St. N to Center Ave

·                    6th St. S to Center Ave

·                    7th St. N to Center Ave

·                    8th St N and 8th St S to Center Ave

·                    9th St N and 9th St S to Center Ave

·                    10th St N and 10th St S to Center Ave

·                    11th St N and 11th St S to center Ave

FARGO: Picking up from the Center Avenue bridge, the parade will go along NP Avenue and turn North at Broadway.

·                     2nd Ave. N from Broadway to 5th St. from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

·                     2nd Ave. N from Roberts Alley to Broadway from 1 p.m.- 9 p.m.

·                     Main Ave. and Broadway northbound from 4 p.m.- 9 p.m.

·                     Main Ave. and 4th St. from 5:45 p.m.- 9 p.m.

·                     Main Ave. and 2nd St. from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

·                     6th Ave. N and Broadway from 6:15 - 9 p.m.

No parking will be allowed along the parade route from 3 p.m until 9 p.m.. Parade viewers going Downtown after 5:30 are encouraged by Fargo officials to park in the Island Park ramp. Additional safety measures (such as concrete barricades) will be implemented along the route to help ensure safety of attendees.
