UPDATE: I-29 reopened from Fargo to South Dakota border, Grand Forks to Canadian border remains closed

UPDATE (7:00 a.m.) -- Interstate 29 from Fargo to Grand Forks is now open to traffic. I-29 from Grand Forks to the Canadian border remains closed at this time. The No Travel Advisory remains in place.

 

UPDATE (5:30 a.m.) -- The North Dakota Department of Transportation has reopened I-29 southbound from Fargo to the South Dakota border. The highway from Fargo to the Candian border remains closed until further notice.

 

(Fargo, ND) -- With winter weather making its presence felt in Fargo Sunday evening, a major roadway is being shutdown as a result.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation says I-29 between Fargo and the Canadian border has been shutdown thanks to Blizzard-like conditions.

This as well over five inches of snow has fallen in the Red River valley over the past day, with blustery winds gusting around 40 mph continue.
