(Barnesville, MN) -- A Twin Cities area man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit while walking on Highway 34 about 10 miles east of Barnesville Tuesday night.

29-year old Eli Thomas Hutchinson of Stacy was airlifted to a Fargo hospital after the crash. The Minnesota State Patrol says 68-year old James Plath, of Barnesville, was driving the truck that hit Hutchinson.

Roads were snow and ice covered at the time. The State Patrol says this is a reminder to drive carefully on roadways, especially in the winter months.
