(Fargo, ND) -- A newly released study shows that teachers across North Dakota and Minnesota are facing high levels of stress and depression because of the pandemic.
Researchers Andrea Huseth-Zosel and Sarah Crary of North Dakota State University conducted three surveys from April 2020 to April 2021 with hundreds of K through 12 teachers in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Results indicate many teachers had little experience with remote technologies before the pandemic, leading to high levels of stress and depression when learning switched to a remote mode.
The study shows stress and depression peak levels were reached in October 2020, when North Dakota was experiencing a peak in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
