(Moorhead, MN)-- On December 17, 2021, at approximately 4:51pm, officers were dispatched to 11 Street North and 1 Avenue North on a report of a train striking a motor vehicle.
When officers arriced they located a 2004 Dodge truck that had substantial driver's side damage. The driver was the only occupant of the truck and was not injured during the incident. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the truck traveling North on 11 St and appeared to have slid under the downed railroad crossing arms into the path of an Eastbound train.
The driver, Cody Polipnick, age 35, of Moorhead, was arrested for misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated.
