(Frisco, TX) -- NDSU Athletic Director Matt Larsen says he and the Bison football team are excited to be among 4 college teams in the country still playing football in January.

The entire team and support staff and coaches, numbering more than 200 people flew charter planes from Frisco and arrived in the city Wednesday. The team practiced at Toyota Stadium Thursday.

“Even though we have a combination of guys who have played on the national championship before and we have guys that this is their first trip to Frisco, and so I think both are really excited getting the opportunity to complete for a national championship is why you come to NDSU,” said Larsen.

Larsen says the team is in a “really good place right now” and the healthiest they have been since the playoffs began.

“Having the last 3 weeks off between the semi-final and national championship game has been huge from a mental and physical standpoint,” said Larsen.
