(Fargo, ND)-- Essentia Health-Fargo is actively recruiting volunteers to work in the Cancer Center, emergency department, patient gift shop and to serve as patient escorts.

“At Essentia Health, volunteers are instrumental in our mission of making a healthy difference in people’s lives,” said Kerri Anderson, volunteer supervisor at Essentia. “Every one of our volunteers has the unique opportunity to brighten the day of our patients and play a special role in the healing process. We look forward to seeing more individuals throughout our community join the Essentia family as volunteers.”

There is especially a need for volunteers to serve in Essentia’s Cancer Center, where the roles range from playing the piano to assisting in the resource library.

To ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff, volunteers must:

Commit to a regular weekly four-hour shift.

Submit to a background check.

Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the seasonal flu prior to starting.

Be willing to wear a mask during their shift.

Be 18 years of age or older.
