Essentia Health seeking volunteers for study on using Ivermectin to treat Covid-19

(Fargo, ND) -- A new nationwide study supported by Essentia Health aims to find out whether Ivermectin can be used to effectively treat someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

"ivermectin has been used worldwide for parasitic infections.  We don't live in a tropical sort of climate.  So the indications for Ivermectin use in the United States is very limited compared to other countries which its use is extremely common," said Dr. Rajesh Prabhu, an infectious disease specialist for Essentia Health.

Two other drugs are also being tested in the study for treating Covid-19.  They are Fluticasone and Fluvoxamine.  Prabhu says the study is trying to determine if the medications will be beneficial in treating to mild-to-moderate Covid.  To participate in the 90 day study, a person must be at least 30 years old and have tested positive for Covid within the past 10 days.  To learn more visit the website below, or call Essentia Health at (866) 839-4128 or call toll free at (833) 383-1880.
