(Moorhead, MN) -- A half-cent sales tax hike will be presented to voters in Moorhead on the November general election ballot.

This, after Moorhead City Council approved the measure for the ballot Monday night. The tax increase would go towards the development of the Regional Library and Community Center. Council says the tax would generate more than 31-million dollars in income for the city over the next 22 years.

In another move, the City Council also voted down a proposed mask mandate for Moorhead. That vote was 5-3 in favor of not beginning a mandate on the face coverings city-wide.
