(Fargo, ND) -- A fire has ripped through a home in South Fargo early Wednesday morning.

The Fargo Fire Department says they got a call around 5 a.m. for reports of flames and smoke shooting out from the home in the 1400 block of 2nd avenue south.

Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen has confirmed to WDAY Radio that one person was taken out from the home and transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries. Chief Dirksen also says a handful of firefighters actually fell through a collapsing floor inside the home, but were uninjured and able to self-extricate from the rubble. It is still unclear what caused the fire in the first place.
