(Casselton, ND) -- Casselton's only grocery store, Wrangler Foods, may soon be closing due to a decision made by a city commission.

Casselton's Planning and Zoning Commission approved the use of a conditional use permit, which would allow for the sale of the building which Wrangler Foods resides. The buyer of the building intends to move a computer, internet, IT sales, and support center into the location.

In preparation for the potential closure, community members are considering their options. City Planning and Zoning Commission Chair Ed McConnel says now may be the time to consider a community-owned grocery store.

Casselton City Council has final say if the sale goes through, which will be discussed at the next city commission meeting.
