(West Fargo, ND) -- Assistant West Fargo City Administrator Tim Solberg has been fired after an internal investigation following a domestic disturbance at his home.

Solberg was put on unpaid administrative leave after being arrested at his home last month for domestic assault. He was charged with aggravated assault and felony resisting arrest.

According to court documents, Solberg grabbed his wife by the throat and slammed her head against the wall causing her to lose consciousness. The city confirms Solberg was fired January 27th.

When attempting to be reached for comment, Solberg declined to speak with WDAY Radio at the behest of his attorneys, but did mention he and his wife are 'back together'.
