(Moorhead, MN) -- The Red River Regional Dispatch Center is hiring dispatchers.
"A lot of people think oh I could never do that. But, we train them. I mean, nobody grows up and says 'oh I'm going to be a 9-1-1 dispatcher but we get them in there and we train them and we teach them and they do a great job for our community," said Mary Phillippi, the Director for the dispatch center.
The center takes 911 calls and non-emergency calls for Cass County and Clay County. The dispatchers currently handle about 10,000 calls a month. Phillippi says the work can be stressful but also extremely rewarding while helping people in need.
