(Fargo, ND) -- Another successful Giving Hearts Day has come to an end, with another record-breaking year in the books.
At just after 6 p.m. Thursday night, donors to Giving Hearts Day's more than 500 charities across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota had given more than $22 million dollars. The final tally, just past midnight, was 26 million dollars donated across the 24-hour day of giving, which began in 2008.
40,692 donors were also tallied from the event, which is possibly considering going national at some point according to the Dakota Medical Foundation's Pat Traynor.
