(Fargo, ND) -- Cass County Commission Board Chairman Rick Steen has announced he won't seek a third term.
"So it is more so with just spending time doing what we want to do when we want to do it without the restrictions of different meetings and obligations and that type of thing," said Steen.
Steen was first elected to the board from District 2 in Southeast Fargo in 2014. He says one of his primary goals when he ran in 2014 was to secure permanent flood protection for the region. He cites progress on the FM Diversion Project as one accomplishment of which he is most proud. Steen also served on the Fargo Board of Education from 2002 to 2014. Steen's term as commissioner ends at the end of the year.
