(Fargo, ND) -- Flight service by SkyWest Airlines will continue to and from airports in Jamestown and Devil's Lake, at least for now, because of an order from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

"We are quite happy with them issuing that holding order because it will keep our airline coming in to Devil's Lake and Jamestown," said Scott Kruse, General Manager at Devil's Lake Regional Airport. Kruse says SkyWest is required to continue serving the airports until their contract runs out in June, 2023. or until a replacement airline is found to provide services.

SkyWest currently provides 12 round trips a week between Devil's Lake and Denver. Kruse says passenger loads on fights are currently 80 to 90 percent of what they were were prior to Covid-19.
