(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police Chief Dave Zibolski is talking about what he says are the benefits of the department's new online crime reporting system.
"What it does is ease of use on the community side. It also frees up time for our officers and enables us to be more efficient with those resources so we can prioritize priority one responses, proactive enforcement, proactive engagement and just a give a little relief to officers too," said Zibolski.
Zibolski talked about the new system while appearing on WDAY's Coffee Club with Paul and Janae. He says citizens will be able to use the system to report crimes that don't require an officer response in person, such as shoplifting when a suspect is not detained, or simple theft from a car. The system can't be used for serious crimes in progress or crimes in which a person's health or safety are threatened. The new online crime reporting system goes live Monday morning March 28th.
