Support for students who shouted down speaker offering school board presentation on transgenderism

(Becker, MN) -- The Executive Director for the Minnesota group OutFront Minnesota is supporting students in the Becker school district who last week shouted down a speaker at a school board meeting they disagreed with.

"We don't believe that there is an other side. You know the idea of gender identity and sexual orientation is accepted by all branches of the medical establishment. It is not a problem. It is only a problem for those who make it a problem," said Patrick Troska.

Patrick Troska is commenting on the presentation given by a member of the group Minnesota Child Protection League. Julie Quist, who was unable to finish her presentation, was invited by the school board to offer perspectives on transgenderism different from views previously presented by OutFront. Troska is asking the board to adopt policies aimed at protecting LGBTQ students in the district.
