(West Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo Public Schools is announcing their newest principal.

The school district says Rachel Bachmeier accepted the position as the next principal for West Fargo High School.

Bachmeier started their career in education as a middle school language arts teacher at South Dakota's Rosebud Indian Reservation in 2012. She has worked in Denver, Colorado as a Social Studies teacher, and as English Learner social studies teacher at West Fargo High School. She also has been a dean of students at West Fargo High School and an assistant principal.

Secondary Assistant Superintendent Vince Williams says Bachmeier will fit the position quite well. "Throughout her time at West Fargo High School, Bachmeier has done a remarkable job establishing positive relationships with educators, learners, and families. Her educational philosophy exemplifies her dedication and commitment to ensuring all students can experience success at West Fargo High. I am excited to see what the future holds for Bachmeier and the West Fargo High School community.”

Bachmeier will replace Dr. Jennifer Fremstad, who is leaving the district at the end of the current school year.
