(Fargo, ND) -- Beginning Monday at 8 a.m, 4th street south will be closed between 13th avenue south and 14th avenue south.

The closure will allow for work to be completed on the Red River Pump Station and will be in place until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 8th.

During the closure, crews will assemble and install new raw water pumps that are required for the Red River Pump Station project. This project provides important upgrades to water supply infrastructure at the Fargo Water Treatment Plant. The Fargo Water Treatment Plant provides drinking water for the cities of Fargo and West Fargo.

Motorists are advised to slow down and watch for construction workers in the area. The City of Fargo says it is encouraging motorists to use an alternate route to avoid the one block closure.
