Fargo Fire Marshal: Kitchen fire started on stovetop

(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo Fire Department says a kitchen fire started on a stove top.

Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson says the blaze in an apartment in the 800 block of 42nd Street South broke out after a cardboard box went up in flames after sitting on top of the stove. No injuries were reported and a dog was rescued from a bedroom unharmed.

The fire has been classified as unintentional.
