(Moorhead, MN) -- The city of Moorhead is hosting conversations and gathering feedback surrounding a proposed community center.

People were invited to a meeting held at Moorhead Center Mall on Tuesday. Inside were curious city residents, informational graphics detailing current plans, and city staff looking to answer questions. Residents were able to talk with figures like Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson, to ask questions, deliver feedback, and propose what they would like to see in a future community center.

"I would like to see maker spaces for sure," said city resident Erin Chase, "especially for electronics, carving, sowing. Almost like a home-ec course but for the whole community to use."

Other residents discussed the need for indoor community spaces. "An indoor playground for kids," proposed Lisa Borgen, Vice President of Moorhead's American Crystal Sugar,"It's a challenge to get your kids outside when it's so cold outside."

A second meeting at Moorhead Center Mall, also discussing the proposed community center, will take place on April 19th.
