(Grand Forks, ND) -- The University of North Dakota is offering its first ever dual credit course at a Grand Forks high school.

The Aviation 105 course is available at Red River High School as a dual credit elective. UND is looking at adding other courses at the school, mostly in aviation.

"This movement is expanding all across the region," said Professor Leslie Martin on WDAY Midday. "It's great to see all these people getting involved because there is so much more to aviation than just flying planes."

Martin says students in the program learn not only about flight, but about the different jobs in the industry of aviation and where the need is for employment. The courses would are housed in the planned Career Impact Academy.
