(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks woman is facing charges after firing a gun in her home Thursday evening.

The Grand Forks Police Department says officers responded to a call of gunshots heard from a home in the 1200 block of South 18th street. That's where authorities found the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jill Mudge, and a bullet hole in her living room floor. The bullet traveled though the floor and lodged itself into a cement wall in the basement.

Mudge's boyfriend was nearby when the gun was fired, but nobody was hit or injured. Mudge was arrested for reckless endangerment, and also faces a charge of discharging a firearm within city limits.

Authorities also noted in a statement to WDAY Radio that this type of call does happen fairly frequently throughout the year, and are reminding gun owners to properly check or handle any firearm in a safe manner.
