(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Public School's Board President is looking to continue her work into a third term.

Rebecca Knutson joined WDAY Midday to talk about her re-election bid for the seat, while staring down a slew of 14 other candidates attempting to fill the upcoming five open positions in the June election.

"I have been so fortunate to be elected by the voters twice before in 2014 and 2018," said Knutson. "I look forward to keep building on what we've been doing into the next four years."

Knutson says her focus has and always will be on the education of students in the district, and providing a successful environment for them to learn and grow.

"I think it's the most important thing a society can do," said Knutson when talking about education with children.

The current School Board President also talked about weathering the storm known as COVID-19, and all the work that went into keeping students, staff and everyone in the district as safe as possible. She says student engagement and learning will be the most important challenge the district faces as we begin to move from the pandemic times.
