(Fargo, ND) -- One of the candidates for Fargo Park Board is using his previous experience working for the district, and his business acumen, as key selling point for your vote this June.

Fargo Brewing Company Owner Aaron Hill says his campaign is focused in on being 'forward' thinking and 'aggressive' with plans for the future.

"It's pushing our community forward to stay competitive and get people to Fargo," said Hill while speaking with WDAY Midday.

Hill says it's evident that neighboring cities like West Fargo have taken that approach when it comes to parks and recreation, and it's something he wants to highlight here if elected.

"They're being really aggressive and building phenomenal things like the Rustad Rec Center, the aquatics center and the playground onĀ 17th avenue," said Hill. "They're building these great, beautiful, wonderful amenities, and I think we need to get up to speed there too."

Hill does say that bigger projects like the South Fargo Sports Complex and Island Park Restoration project are evidence that the park district is thinking 'big picture' when looking at not only community engagement, but drawing more people to the city for the next number of years.

"Being able to learn more about the details, like having an indoor or outdoor pool and what that could draw to the area has been great," said Hill. "We can attract things like national level swim meets, and maybe draw thousands of people to the area that can take advantage of hotels, bars restaurants and more. It gets me excited to view plans for things like Island Park because of the possibilities."

The local entrepreneur added that looking at proposed plans for things like the project at Island Park give him a bit of deja vu, but also make him feel more comfortable because of his business background and having the ability to look through things like traffic flow, position of amenities and so forth.
