(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo's 17th annual Marathon drew large crowds today, welcoming runners of all experience levels.

Runners began at 7:00 a.m. spread out in 10 minute intervals, with the Half Marathon runners starting the morning run, followed by Full Marathon runners at 7:10 a.m., and 10k runners at 7:20 a.m.. Volunteers, medics, and racing supporters lined dozens of streets in the F-M area in preparation for the event.

"The fans are really appreciated, "said a marathon runner who finished the full marathon moments prior, "It can be a bit of a slog so having people cheer you on really is awesome. Everyone is super positive."

An announcer shouted names of those completing the race, often to the cheers of family, friends, and the hundred of others who also competed. Athletes were greeted at the finish line with calorie dense foods and drinks, uplifting music, and medics on standby.

Marathon athletes can continue the celebrations later today at the Post Race Party between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. You can learn more by clicking here
