Challengers take four seats on Fargo School Board

(Fargo, ND) -- It was a crowded race for five spots on the Fargo School Board, and in the end, four of five incumbents running for re-election were unseated by the challengers.

With 15 candidates running for the five seats, Tuesday's election lived up to its potential -- as it was one of the more highly talked about races in the metro.

A group of five, known by the acronym AADDS -- Alexis Scott, Allie Ollenburger, Deven Styczynski, David Paulson and Kristin Sharbono -- looked to take the five seats. Incumbents Paulson, Rebecca Knutson, Brian Nelson and Robin Nelson all were looking to retain their seats on the Fargo School Board.

In the end, it was four newcomers that will join Robin Nelson on the board. Melissa Burkland, Katie Christensen, Greg Clark and Nyamal Dei were all elected to the school board, along with the incumbent Nelson.

Those five defeated Ollenburger, Scott, Styczynski, Sharbono, Lyn Telford, Katie Kelsh and Zac Echola, who all were challengers; along with Knutson, Nelson and David Paulson.
