Fargo Juneteenth celebration set for Sunday

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo's Third Annual Community Celebration of Juneteenth is set for Sunday.

The event will take place in the afternoon at North Dakota State University Renaissance Hall. The free event will feature artists, food, a hair show, community resources, poets, singers, and dancers. Organizers are also incorporating a virtual reality component that includes drones as part of the experience.

Organizers say the goals of the event are to recognize Freedom Day and to promote culture and ethnic heritage that embraces the past, appreciates the present, and prepares for the future.
