CAIR-MN seeking FBI probe following East Grand Forks mosque fire

(East Grand Forks) -- An FBI probe is being sought by the Council on American Islamic Relations following the East Grand Forks mosque fire earlier this month.

Surveillance video shows a female suspect, identified as 57-year-old Suzette Thompson of Thief River Falls, using a spray can and a lighter to set a curtain within the building a blaze before quickly leaving the scene. CAIR-MN  is supporting classifying the incident as a hate crime, following the arrest of Thompson, who was charged with two counts of first-degree arson.

"We as a community are traumatized, "said CAIR-MN member Imam Mohammed, "Our community members are fearful."
