(Fargo, ND) -- Cass County Electric Cooperative officials say they responded to three different outages in Fargo on Sunday.

Cass County Electric Co-op VP of Engineering Jodi Bullinger joined WDAY Midday to speak on the weekend outages. The official reason for the outages was determined to be an "Overload", but Bullinger says this term is slightly misleading.

"Our system has some protections, " said Bullinger, "When there is protections in place, if the load exceeds what that protective devices is able to handle, it will protect that equipment and blow - basically the fuze. So that's kinda what is in place, and that's what happened down in South Fargo in both the Davies area and we had one over near Sheyenne street as well."

Bullinger also gave a shout out to some friendly neighbors, who made sure crews were a little more comfortable in the triple digit heat.

"[The Crews] were out for quite an extended time, "said Bullinger, "But they were out thanking [the crews], and some were even out giving waters to our guys, and just - thanking them for working. So I just appreciate the response we had from those members down in that South Fargo Davies area."

Bullinger says this scenario is uncommon to this area, saying these kinds outages were "abnormal".
