(West Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo Public Schools has its new leader of the athletics and activities departments across the district.
WFPS announced this week that Logan Midthun has accepted the position as the first District Activities Director for West Fargo Public Schools.
Midthun began his career in education in 2011 with Killdeer Public Schools, where he served as their high school physical education teacher and Activities Director. He also served as the Activities Director for Williston Public Schools and Big Lake Public Schools before accepting the Dean of Students & Activities Supervisor position at Horace High School in 2021. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Minnesota State University-Moorhead, and a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education with a coaching minor from Valley City State University.
“Logan's professional experiences as a teacher, coach, and Activities Director across districts of varying sizes and demographics make him well-equipped to help WFPS fine-tune not only this position, but the future of activities for all learners at all schools in our district," said Secondary Assistant Superintendent Vincent Williams "Whether it’s carrying on the traditions at Sheyenne and West Fargo High Schools or helping to create those traditions at Horace High School, I am confident in his excitement for the challenge.”
“Our entire community values student engagement, whether that is through fine arts, cocurricular clubs, or athletics,” stated Superintendent Beth Slette. “I am proud of our Board for seeing the addition of this position as the next step in our journey of providing equitable engagement opportunities for all learners.”
Midthun will assume his new position with West Fargo Public Schools Friday. The search for his replacement at Horace High School will begin immediately.
