Fargo named fifth least stressed city in country

(Fargo, ND) -- With 87% of Americans feeling stressed because of inflation, the personal-finance website WalletHub Monday released its report on 2022's Most & Least Stressed Cities in America.

So, where does Fargo rank? The city comes in fifth least stressed, according to the study which compared more than 180 cities across 40 key metrics. The data set ranges from average weekly work hours to the unemployment rate to divorce and suicide rates.

Here are some of the key indicators that stood out involving Fargo (1st being most stressed, 91st being average):

  • 127th – Avg. Weekly Hours Worked
  • 69th – Traffic Congestion
  • 117th – Poverty Rate
  • 173rd – Divorce Rate
  • 99th – % of Adults in Fair/Poor Health
  • 70th – Job Security
  • 168th – % of Adults with Inadequate Sleep
  • 136th – Unemployment Rate
  • 67th – % of Residents Who Are Fully Vaccinated

Bismarck came in just a few slots lower than Fargo in the top ten least stressed cities in the country. The overall least stressed? South Burlington, Vermont. The most stressed? Cleveland, Ohio.
