(Clay County, MN) -- Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting is sharing a health update of a retired department leader.
Retired Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist's family says he has been suffering from Alzheimer's Dementia since his retirement in 2019. Family members say due to progression of the disease, Bill is currently on Hospice care, resting with family and friends.
The family is asking for privacy at this time.
