(Fargo, ND) -- A nearly ten-million dollar grant is intended to fund workforce training in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

The grant is part of the 500-million dollar Good Jobs Challenge funded by the American Rescue Plan. The grant process screened 500 applications to choose 32 winning projects.

The Chamber president and CEO Shannon Full is calling the grant a historic opportunity.

“We are really excited about the future of this region,” said Full. “I have been in FMWF for 18 months now and every day I am impressed by what we have to offer here. I believe that through significant strategic partnerships and better leveraging of our relationships and resources, we have all of the necessary components needed to elevate us to the next level.”

The funds will be allocated to area businesses with a focus on workforce training for military, veterans, new American immigrant population and recently released people involved with the justice system.
