(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Police Captain George Vinson joined WDAY Midday to speak on multiple topics happening in our metro area.

Captain Vinson first elaborated on the three weekend shootings that occurred in Fargo. Vinson called shootings "very concerning" saying three of the city's five shootings occurred over the course of two days.

"The first occurring on the 6th at about midnight, in the 3300 block of 35th ave south. The second occurring about two and a half hours later in the 10 block of Broadway, and the third shooting that was reported over the weekend was reported on the 7th at about 2:30 in the morning, "said Captain Vinson,"It's certainly a public safety concern."

Additional details on the investigations were released over the course of the conversation. Captain Vinson says the second and third shootings do appear to be related.

"We do have information that leads us to believe that the last two shootings, the one on Broadway and the one north university drive, do have a connection, "said Captain Vinson, "Officers and detectives are working tirelessly to try figure that out."

Fargo police have confirmed they currently have a suspect who is in custody, 21-year-old Braden Poitra. You can learn more about the arrest by clicking here.
