Cass County Sheriff's Office to host citizens academy

(Cass County, ND) -- Some good news if you want to find out more about what it takes to be a deputy for the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

The department is holding a citizens academy beginning on September 13th, which is designed to gain insight into its functions and responsibilities, while also bridging the gap and fostering relationships with the community.

The 12-week course takes place Tuesdays starting on the 13th from 6-10pm.

To apply, you must:

  • Be a citizen or work in Cass County and
  • be 18 years of age or older

The department does say that interested participants are subject to a background check, and that they will accept the applications in the sequence they are submitted and approved. The sheriff’s office will contact the applicants in regards to being accepted or not into the academy.
