(Fargo, ND) -- Independent candidate files papers to run for state representative in District 20

Cathy "Kit" Brenan says she has filed paperwork to become an independent candidate for state representative on the November 8th general election ballot in North Dakota's 20th District. Brennan describes herself as a 27 year resident of Hillsboro, North Dakota. Brenan says she believes a new voice is needed to "fully represent" the people of District 20 and North Dakota.

“Current politicians talk a lot about all their hard work, but nothing seems to ever get done or change. I’ve contacted representatives over the years and their answer is they’re voting how they believe. Yet, Representative’s votes are supposed to reflect the will of the people, not their own. If elected, I will have open conversations with the people of District 20 and honestly represent their beliefs,” said Brennan.

Brenan's proposals include a property tax exemption for the primary residence for any person age 65 or older, who has lived in the state for 20 years or longer. Brenan has agreed to discuss her candidacy and her platform on WDAY Mid Day with Kyle Cornell, Thursday, September 8th, at 12:05.
