(West Fargo, ND) --West Fargo Public Schools is naming a mental health professional to improve services across the district.
Malarie Carlson is being appointed to become the Behavioral Health and Wellness Coordinator for the district. Carlson has a master's degree in Counseling and Student Affairs from MSUM, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from NDSU. Carlson says she is excited to increase access to mental health services within the school district.
She says her previous experiences in prior schools will help her with West Fargo Public Schools. "I have direct experience working with children who require services beyond what a school counselor should provide and have also been witness to the difficulties of securing services in the community. Strategizing and setting goals to overcome similar obstacles is something I have been doing with my colleague at the middle and high school as this issue is only becoming more prevalent."
