(Fargo, ND) -- The City of West Fargo wants public input on the next city budget, which is growing thanks in part to the new north side fire station under construction.
"Building that in particular requires us to hire a large amount of staff and to buy very expensive equipment," said City Administrator Tina Fisk.
Fisk says projected city expenses for 2023 are expected to increase by 8 percent to $115.4 million dollars. The budget is the focus of a public hearing set for tonight at City Hall beginning at 5:30. Citizens are invited to participate.
Inflation is also impacting the city's operating expenses.
"Inflation has had a big factor in our budget. Everything from fuel to equipment to labor, everything has risen quite a bit," said Fisk.
